Capturing Video Content for Community Event and Report

For the gathering at Ka Waiwai ma Mōʻiliʻili on November 8, 2024, I had the privilege of capturing dynamic video content that brought to life the essence of the event and its impactful themes. The gathering, which brought together 100 participants, focused on exploring and deepening the community’s understanding of Ea and Ke Akua Mana—two vital dimensions in the community-created wellbeing framework.

As a video content creator, I collaborated closely with the event organizers to ensure that the narrative of this meaningful day was expertly documented. From the workshops led by skilled practitioners in art, board and stone, and mele, I captured key moments that highlighted how these practices exemplify Ea and Ke Akua Mana through the art of hana noʻeau. My role also extended to filming the enlightening Hoʻoponopono Panel, where elders and practitioners shared insights that bridged these dimensions with ancestral knowledge, ike kūpuna.

This video work was not only instrumental in creating a highlight reel to celebrate the event but also crucial in the development of a Community Report that disseminates the knowledge and experiences shared during the gathering. By crafting compelling video content, I aimed to ensure that the powerful themes and connections explored in this event resonate beyond the day itself, continuing to inspire the community’s growth and collective wellbeing.
